About Our Head Nanny
Our Head Nanny, Amanda started at the Dogwoods as a part-time nanny while attending college.
A few years ago, she become a part of the full-time team and says that it was an easy decision to do so. She says that many of the amazing canine guests and already stolen her heart and it was too hard to say “no” to being a part of their everyday care.
She also says that she can’t seem to decide which breed of dog is her favorite and tends to love em’ all! We’re okay with that because we have a large range of guests visiting us on a regular basis.
Amanda loves getting out with the dogs to play on the agility equipment because it usually gets the guests playing games of “hide & seek” or “races”. She also finds that the eco-friendly ponds tend to be a HUGE hit come summer time, but ball play is the most common activity year round. She regularly catches dogs who don’t “fetch” the ball still having fun chasing the dogs who do. Amanda says this is a perfect example of why the Dogwoods finds ball play to be such a fun and exciting group activity!
Do you think your pet might not be active?
If you don’t think your pet is an active dog, Amanda says you would be surprised at how many of the guests get in the action when the group is playing. She even says she regularly catches the guests who have slowed down with age, still enjoying the “action” from the sidelines.
Amanda loves that all of our guests spend 90% of their time outdoors playing with each other and the nannies, unlike most traditional kennels. In fact, she really enjoys when clients share how excited their dogs become when they realize they have pulled up to the Dogwoods. It’s great little stories like these that makes here want to focus even harder on ensuring that our guests fully enjoy their time at The Dogwoods and look forward to returning.
Lastly, Amanda firmly believes that we are the best dog facility for anyone who is looking to socialize their dog (especially puppies).
